Lead in by repeating English classroom rules. (Teacher does actions and has students say the rules. ) ( English classroom rules: Listen first. Raise your hand. Do not move. English only.)

2. Review English classroom rules and review the target words from last period. (Repeat 2 times for each English classroom rules and vocabulary of this week.)

Step 2: Warming Up (3minutes) 1.

Greetings(Basic Spelling Practice) (T: What day is it today?What’s the date of today? Have students say and spell the date correctly.) 2.

Oral English practice: (Topic talk) (Students’

sharing about vocabulary of food. Have the students introduce their favorite food and reason why.)

3. Warming up by an English game (Game & Activity: Hanger for Pizza)

Step 3: Leading In (3minutes) 1. Conclude from Game & Activities :Hangman Game

(Teacher uses the Hangman words to lead into the topic: Pizza) 2.

(Teacher has a quick review about KWL Chart) Step 4: Presenting (7 minutes) 1. Present K in KWL Chart Pre-assessment :(to find out what students already knew) Poker Game: Teacher uses poker cards to pick students to answer questions randomly. Teacher shows examples for K( what do you know about the topic) and ask students to share their precious experience about the topic. 2. Present W for KWL Chart

Raise questions (to find out what students want to know) Question Generators:(Questions, questions ask a questions ,what, who, where, when, why and how) Concept Driven: form, function, causation, change, connection, perspective, reflection, responsibility . Teacher shows examples for W( what do you want to know about the topic) and ask students to share their interests and questions about the topic. Step 5: Writing for K & W in KWL chart (5minutes) Students write with worksheet for K & W in KWL chart in writing areas. Students use iPad to look up words they do not know how to spell in English. Teachers play music as time keeper to remind student the writing time. Teachers walk around to check students’ writing. Step 6: Differentiation teaching(10 minutes) Differentiated Reading for Collecting information

Listen and read material: Pizza! with teacher. Listen to teacher’s guidance in listening area before practicing L for KWL Chart. Complete the KWL Chart by filling the L Part. Reading activity with teacher or by the students themselves with handbook or iPads. 2.

Group 2 with iPad( Writing Area): Self-learning & Writing Listen and read material: Pizza! by themselves. Complete the KWL Chart by filling the L Part. Reading activity by the students themselves with handbook or iPads. 3.

Group 3 with Mr Briggs( Reading Area): Reading & Practice

Listen and read material: Pizza! with teacher. Understand and answer teacher’s reading comprehension question.

Complete the KWL Chart by filling the L Part. Reading activity with Teacher or by the students themselves with handbook or iPads. Step 7: Sum Up & Assessment 1.Group Presentation: Presenting KWL Chart Students have a presentation for the class with KWL Chart 2.

Reflection

Student's KWL Chart of this period Time management and procedure practice need to be worked on. Teacher should keep students’

handwriting neat in the Writing Practice. More routine practice in reading activity and spelling practice are necessary for English new comers.
