3.通过情景创设，让学生能够以“圣诞节即将来临”为话题，了解圣诞节的文化和过圣诞节所需的物品，培养学生喜欢西方国家节日，热爱生活的美好情感。激发学生学习英语的愿望并乐于运用英语交流。

教学重点：了解圣诞节的文化和过圣诞节所需的物品。

教学难点：能够理解Christmas Is Coming中的Is Coming（现在进行时）表示一般将来时的用法。

教学过程：

Step 1 Warming up (1) Listen and try to sing the song “Jingle Bells”with music. (2) Free talk. T:How are you? Nice to meet you. Do you know Christmas?

Ss talk with each other freely. Step 2 Presentation (1)Teaching the new words and sentences ①

Use a tree to learn “ Christmas tree ” “ Christmas ”

Christmas is coming. 此句用现在进行时表示一般将来时。

② Santa=San+ta(用拼音来记) This is Santa. He brings us many gifts. ③Light(可以从right引出) These are Christmas lights. ④holiday （通过day加前缀）

（让学生小组练习句子并记忆单词，教师指名学生读单词）

（2）学生自读课文，以小组为单位对课文内容进行自编对话，再表演给大家。
