Improve listening comprehension skills Step1. warm up 1.

ask students do exercise 1 and check 2.

ask students to describe different kinds of schooling

Step2. listen to learn 1.

read the introduction and the listening strategies with the class. Elicit ideas for the topics students think will be mentioned. 2.

students write three questions for the listening exercise 3.

play the cassette for students to listen and see if their questions are answered. 4.

students report back to the class if their questions were answered 教学过程

and what the answers were. 5.

play the cassette again for the students to match the extracts with Jack and Nicholas’ schools 6.

check answers as a class 7.

play the cassette the third time and do exercise 6

Step3. speaking 1.

students listen to the tape again and practise saying the expressions 2.
