Skimming What have changed in job areas in recent years? What skills and qualities the author suggests us have in the passage? Task 2. Gap-filling Practice The teacher leads students to finish the procedure: 1.

Read the sentences in exercise2, try to grasp the meanings and key words of them. Students can help each other. 2.

Come back to the passage, find the first gap, ask them to get the topic of the paragrph and read the sentences before and after the gap. 3.

Find the relevent sentence in exercise2 which matches the topic of the paragraph and the sentences before and after the gap. 4.

After filling the first gap, teacher asks students to finish the others individually. 5.

Check answers in pairs and then as a whole class. 6.

Teacher asks students to summarize the procedure of doing the task to their deskmates, and then ,teacher asks several of them to report their conclusions. At last, teacher gives the summary. Task 3

Detailed Reading

Read the article again and answer these questions. 1. What is “future shock”?

3. How will jobs change?

Discussion: In pairs, students make a short passage according to the answers to the above questions，including the answer to the question “What can we do now to master the skills and qualities required in our future careers?”
