一．教材分析Analysis of the Teaching Materials In this unit students have learned about many stories about famous people at home and abroad. It serves to guide their value in life. This lesson is an introduction of great philosophers of ancient China. This is aimed to expand students’

knowledge about famous people in Ancient China. In learning their stories and the reason why thy are regarded as such influential philosophers, they are expected to take pride in being Chinese.

二．学情分析Analysis of the Students The teaching objects of this lesson are high school students in Xiushan Middle school. Having learned this unit, they are already familiar with so many great people and their stories. Compared with the former people, People to be learned this class is much more familiar to our students. And students are most interested in learning more detailed things about them. 三. 教学目标

Period III: people（Reading）

lead-in

(5mins) use the TV program, Chinese bridge to introduce the fact that people around the world is learning Chinese, and China is becoming global.

Reading

(1)

Read fast to get the general structure of each paragraph and choose the right sentence to complete the banks.

(2)

Read again to fill the detail information of each philosopher and construct the main structure of the whole passage.

Post-reading

(3)

Use the structure to retell the stories of the great people with desk mates.

(4)

Write an postcard to introduce one of the great philosophers to a foreign friends.

七．教学反思Teaching Feedbacks

1.Advantages This class promotes the students’

ability of speaking and analysing, what’s more, stimulates students to study in the way of cooperative.the whole class is filled with active atmosphere. In the long term, cultural pride learned in this class is also of great benefit to my students. 2.Shortages Class time is limited ,so maybe lack of time for my students to share their great heroes in ancient China and introduce them to class.
