一：课题：

Our cities 二：教材分析

本节课是这个单元的第三课时，前面两个课时学生已经掌握了通过What is\are…like? What was\were…like?句型来了解事物之前和现在的变化。在前面的两个课时的基础上，继续深化学习句型What is\are…like? What was\were…like?并能运句子There is\are…There was\were…介绍某个地方。学生通过阅读充分的材料，了解当今城市的发展之快，并教育学生要低碳生活，保持环境卫生。

三：学生情况分析

学生对生活充满热情。他们对自己生活的环境很熟悉，同时也很想了解当今城市的变化，他们对自己以及别人的生活环境的变化充满兴趣。

四、教学目标

1. 语言知识目标

（3）读：能读懂Reading and writing的短文内容，了解不同城市以前与现在的变化。并能将图片与相应的小短文进行配对。

（4）写：能正确运用句型和时态写出城市以前与现在的变化。

3.情感态度目标：通过学习短文，了解不同城市以前与现在的变化，从小培养学生低碳出行、保护环境的意识。

4.学习策略目标：通过培养学生合作学习的态度和方法，有效利用Pair work ，Group work等活动，培养学生合作学习的意识。

教学重点：通过阅读短文，能了解不同城市以前与现在的变化，并能运用There is\are…

There was\were…来介绍某个地方以前与现在的变化。

教学难点：

短文中Guangzhou Tower

Pearl River等一些新单词的发音等及理解。

七、教学过程: Step 1 Free talk T: Boys and girls, what is the weather like today ?

What is our city like today ? (出示台山市的图片) T: Look, this is our city. Taishan City. (教学单词city) T: This is (教师指着图片引导学生说出Taishan City )There are many roads in Taishang City.（结合图片教学roads）

T: what is our city like today ? (让学生看图自由发挥回答) 【设计意图】复习旧知识，自然导入新课。并通过教学新单词，帮助学生解决难点。

Step 2 Presentation 1、The first reading: Listen and read. (1)T: Boys and girls, I have three good friends. They are Wang Yan, Sam , and Judy. Today they are talking about their cities. Let’s listen to them. After listening, fill in the blanks with the correct sentences from the box. (2)T: Please listen again and read. Then check the answers. 【设计意图】让学生对短文有一个整体感知并通过选择完成填空。

(3)T: This is Wang Yan’s city. Do you know its name ? (结合图片) T: It is Guangzhou City . T: Are these buildings tall ?(指着图片上那些高楼)

The second reading: Read silently. （1）

T: Now we know something about Guangzhou City. Please read the part1 with your partner. Then try to answer the questions. What is Wang Yang’s city like now ? What was Wang Yang’s city like before ? (完成表格) （2）学生跟同伴一起朗读第一部分的短文，并根据问题来完成表格。接着教师与大家一起对答案。学生齐读句子。

【设计意图】通过跟同伴合作，降低学习难度，培养学生之间的合作精神、互助精神。

4．The third reading: Read after the teacher.

(1) Read after the teacher.

(2) Finish the exercise on page 51Exercise 2 and 3.

(3) Check the answers and solve some problems. 【设计意图】首先通过跟读，纠正发音，然后完成书本练习，检查学生对短文的理解及学生对句型There is\are… There was\were…运用能力。

5. The fourth reading: Read aloud

四人一个小组大声朗读短文，教师抽查。

【设计意图】通过四人小组活动，学生操练语言，内化语言，在这过程中，培养学生之间的合作精神。

Step 3 Summary

教师利用刚才的表格，运用句型There is\are… There was\were…与学生共同回顾本节课的新知识，并对学生进行低碳出行、保护环境的教育。
