Unit 4 Keeping Clean Reading and writing 海宴镇升平小学 雷明珠

本节课是这个单元的第三课时，前面两个课时学生已经掌握了通过What is\are…like? What was\were…like?句型来了解事物之前和现在的变化。在前面的两个课时的基础上，继续深化学习句型What is\are…like? What was\were…like?并能运句子There is\are…There was\were…介绍某个地方。学生通过阅读充分的材料，了解当今城市的发展之快，并教育学生要低碳生活，保持环境卫生。

一、教学目标

1. 语言知识目标

二、教学重点和难点

教学重点：通过阅读短文，能了解不同城市以前与现在的变化，并能运用There is\are…

There was\were…来介绍某个地方以前与现在的变化。

教学难点：

短文中Guangzhou Tower

Pearl River等一些新单词的发音等及理解。

三、课前准备：

ppt，学生使用练习纸等等。

I work in Taishan now.

T: Look! （走到屏幕前）That is Tongji Tower, and this is the Tongji River.

Tongji Tower is by the Tongji River.

And I studied in Guangzhou before. That is the Guangzhou Tower. Can you read? (读Guangzhou Tower )

And this is the Pearl River. Let’s read. (读the Pearl River)Look! Guangzhou Tower is by the Pearl River.

I often keep in touch with my friends. (PPT出)T: I wrote letters and e-mails to them before.

(PPT出)But now I can wechat them. We often talk about the changes in the city. (微信响了) Listen！

[设计意图]利用What’s …like? 和What was … like？进行复习巩固，利用wechat设置情景导入新课，并通过教学新单词，帮助学生解决难点。

Step 2 While- reading ：The 1st reading 1. Listen and think, then fill in the blanks.

2. Check the answer T: Wang Yan, Sam and Judy are talking about the changes in the city. What are the differences between now and before. Let’s listen and read. [设计意图] 让学生对短文有一个整体感知并通过选择完成填空。

The 3rd reading 1. Pair work: Read in pairs，match and finish the sentences. You have 2 tasks. One is Ex.2 on page 51. Look and match. The other one is look and finish the sentences.

Step 3 Post- reading 1. （微信响起）Listen! They’re chatting again. Let’s have a look! Judy: I want to know something about other cities.

Who can tell me ? T: I can! There are many changes in my city, too. I have a video. Let’s watch! T: Taishan changes a lot these years. Can you say about old Taishan and Taishan today? 2.Time for writing!

Old Taishan and Taishan Today. Look! There are so many changes . The shops, the gym, the Tongji River. You can also say something about the roads, the school and so on. Take out your exercise paper. Try to finish your writing. OK？

1. Talk about what Taishan was like before and what Taishan is like today in groups. 2. Write a short passage about Taishan.
