Unit 2 Our New Home

The 1st period

Teaching target:Master the new words and the sentences structure

Teaching key points:The words about home and the sentences structure

1、Enable to read and write the new words correctly and fluently.

2、Enable to ask about and describe a home

Teaching difficult points:The spelling of the new words and how to use the sentences to describe a home.

Teaching content:

V ocabulary:living room,dining room,bedroom,bathroom, kitchen, garden.. Sentences:Is there a ... ? Yes,there is. / No,there isn’t. There’s ……in my home….. Teaching aids:Some videos and pictures.

Teaching procedure:

一、Warming-up and Review

1、Chant: In my school

二、Presentation of the vocabulary and the new sentence structure.

1、Present the new home by showing a video and introduce:

Look. This is my home. Let’s look at the video to know more about my new home.

2、Learn new words

⑴showing the pictures of the new words one by one and ask the students to read after ⑵Guess the new words(ask some student to read aloud the new words when I am showing the picture of it)

⑶Play a game: Using the lucky wheel to spin out the new words and students need to read out

⑷Students read all the new words in groups

3、Learn the sentences structures.

⑴Introduce the new sentence structure

⑵Pair work to practice using the sentence

三、Practice.

1、Play a game:Guess! What’s in kitty’s house?

By using the sentence below:

Is there a living room in your room?

Yes,there is.

Is there a dining room in your home?

Yes,there is.

Is there a bedroom in your room?

Yes,there is.

Is there a bathroom in your room?

Yes,there is……

2.Group work practice:Read and act out the chant.

四、Happy time: Showing a video of a song to strengthen students’ impression of the new words

五:Read and write: Showing a model essay of My New Home to students who can learn how to describe their homes.

六、Homework:Copy down the new words.
