Teaching keys: Predicting techniques in listening test Proper usage of the vocabulary related to this part Teaching difficulties: Logically predicting in listening context Teaching procedure: Step 1. Greeting,warming-up and revision Teachers greet students by asking “do you like The Cat that Vanished?” or “what do you think of it?”

Next revise some words and sentences learned in the passage The Cat that Vanished.

Then show them a cartoon The Prince Frog,let them familiar with the features of the listening text today. Step 2. Lead-in and presentation Show the picture on the screen and ask students to describe it

use their imagination as wild as possible. Then ask them to reorganize the sentences in the Ex 1 so that they can check whether their prediction is reasonable or not. Next :Fill in the blanks with right words from Activity 3.

8. What exactly does the frog say to Ferdinand? Before listening to the audio clips, students are asked to study the 8 questions carefully and try to find some clues in them,next they share what they have predicted in pairs, in groups and last in the whole class. This is aimed to develop their ability about prediction in listening context and get fully prepared for the listening. Step 4.Summary Prediction is vital for us to do listening exercises and so many aspects should be considered while doing them,such as,pictures\charts\questions \choices\key word in the questions and choices related to the listening.
