Cloning （Writing Practice）

I．教学内容分析

Writing部分先是要求学生根据提供的问题就克隆的利弊进行讨论，一方面可以检测学生对本模块知识的运用情况，另一方面可以为接下来的写作做好准备，使学生能较流畅地表达自己的观点

II．教学重点和难点

(1)学会表达自己赞成或反对的理由。

(2)学会陈述自己的观点和理由。

(3)学写关于反对或赞成克隆的议论文。

Ⅲ．Teaching Goals：

1．To enable Ss to write an argument about cloning．

2．To help Ss learn how to talk about cloning．

3．To let Ss know more about the possible development of cloning．

Ⅳ.Teaching Procedures：

Step 1．Revision Ask the students to sum up the advantages and disadvantages of cloning Step 2.Lead-in 1.

Discussion: If you had the power, would you encourage or be against cloning? Present your reasons. (1) Reasons for encouraging cloning A. Cloning will be beneficial to humans. For example, if a couple cannt have children, cloning could help give them a child. B. We could use cloning to cure illness. (2) Reasons for banning cloning •

Cloning is against nature. •

Cloned animals get ill and die quite young. •

People are afraid that scientists will create thousands of copies of the same person. •

Cloning is dangerous because scientists may create monsters by mistake. 2.

Teach the students how to write a paragraph 导入：第1段：提出一种现象或某个决定作为议论的话题

The reasons for this may be listed as follows. （过渡句，承上启下）
