教学目标：

学生能听懂，会说和认读下列词汇：happy, sad, hot, cold, tired. 2.

教学过程：

Step Ⅰ: Class opening Greetings

T: Hello, boys and girls. How are you today? I’m very happy today. Because today is my birthday. ( Take out a picture of the cake. And put it on the blackboard.)

Step Ⅱ: New concepts 1.

Leading in the word “happy” ( From the song “ Happy Birthday”) T: So can you sing “Happy Birthday” for me. T: After the song, how do you feel? (Put the sentence “ How do you feel?” on the blackboard.) Ss: Happy. The teacher reads the word. And the students read after me. Then spell the word together. T: Show me your finger. Ss: Finger, finger, finger. T: happy, h-a-p-p-y, happy, a, a, a. Ss: /æ/ /æ/ /æ/ T: Happy. Ss: Happy. T: Happy, happy, happy. I feel happy. (Ask students to read after me.)

But if you are not happy, you feel …

Then the word “sad” uses the same method. Play a game “Opposite Tune”. 2.

T: Look at this picture, how do you feel? (Show the picture of the word hot.)

The teaching method is the same to the word happy. ( “cold, tired” uses the same method.) 3.

Chant.( The teacher does the actions, and the students follow me.)

Happy, happy, happy, I feel happy.

Sad, sad, sad, I feel sad.

Hot, hot, hot, I feel hot.

Cold, cold, cold, I feel cold.

Tired, tired, tired, I feel tired. 4.

Guessing Game.

Ask one student to come to the blackboard. And other students do the actions. Then the chosen student should guess which word it is. 5.

Play the video.

T: So now let’s see how do Jenny and Danny feel? (Ask students to read after the video.)

Then practice in groups. At last, students act. 6.

Make a dialogue.

Use the words, phrases and sentences that we have learned in the last two units. (Show the PPT: Hello! Hi! Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, too. How are you. I’m fine, thanks. How do you feel? I feel … ) 7.

In the end, tell the students our life is beautiful.

T: Our life is beautiful. So we should be happy to face everyday. And the smile is the best way. (Enjoy some pictures.)

Step Ⅲ: Homework 1.

Survey your friends and family “How do you feel?”
