Step 1 Warming up 1. Sing a song “If you are happy”

2. Free talk:

T: Children, are you happy? How do you feel today? S: I’m happy, because I’m go to watch the film “Cinderella” with my friends. I feel tired, because I come to school on foot. I feel sad today, because I can’t find my ruler. I feel... T: Look at these people. Are they happy? What’s the matter with them?( Introduce “headache, toothache, earache, backache, stomach ache, cold, cough, fever...)

T: What should they do? They should see the doctor. (Lead in the title: Seeing the doctor.) Step 2 Presentation of the story. 1. (Show two pictures of Su Hai and Mike.) T: Oh, Su Hai and Mike are in the hospital too. They’re both ill. What’s the matter with Su Hai? What’s the matter with Mike?

2. Watch the video and answer the questions S: Su Hai has a headache. Mike has a toothache. Step 3 Learning of Part 1 1.

T: Su Hai has a headache. Mike has a toothache. So what are they doing in the story? S: Seeing the doctor. 2.

T: Look, Su Hai is in the doctor’s office. What does the doctor ask about her illness? Listen to the tape and find out what the doctor says. S: The doctor says: “What’s wrong with you? ” (Teach “What’s wrong with you? ”示范发音，操练朗读= “What’s the matter with you?”) 3.

Read Part1 and find out how Su Hai answers. （在这个过程中教授斜体字的新词组和新语言）

S: Su Hai answers: “I have a headache. I feel cold. ”

T: Yes, why does Su Hai have a headache? S: Because she has a fever. （板书中将ice bag帖于Su Hai额头）

T: Poor Su Hai! What should she do? (Choose and discuss the right

pictures for Su Hai) (Pictures: do sport, have a rest, do homework, take medicine, drink water, eat ice creams, stay in bed, watch TV) T: She should have a rest, take some medicine

and drink some warm water. (学生集体、个别朗读此句，争做good doctor ) 4. Read Part 1 after the tape. 5. Read in roles (girl: Su Hai, boy: doctor) 6. Sum up the language of seeing a doctor and checking. （根据板书总结部分就诊用语）

Step 4 Learning of Part 2 1. Lead in. T: I hope Su Hai will be better soon. What about Mike? He has a toothache. He should go to see the doctor or dentist? (teach “dentist”)

2. Read Part 2 , try to be dentists, finish Mike’s medical record card in pairs. (引导学生看病历卡，理解新词汇disease, cause, advice, vegetable及语言信息)

Cause(病因): Eat vegetables Eat too many sweets

3. Check the answer（在这个过程中教授斜体字的新词组和新语言）

T: Mike has a toothache. Can he eat anything now? S: No, he can’t eat anything! T: Why does Mike have a terrible toothache? S: Because he eats a lot of sweets. T: Oh, what a pity! What should he do now?

S: He shouldn’t eat too many sweets. He should brush his teeth in the morning and before bedtime. T: Yeah, before bedtime means before going to bed. So how many times should Mike brush his teeth a day? S: Two times. T: Yeah, he should brush his teeth two times a day, after getting up and before going to bed. I hope Mike will be better soon, too. 4.
