Teaching Procedure: Step1. Greeting and then sing the alphabet song together.
Step2. Lead-in.
Teacher ask the whole class look at the PPT(different colour of alphabet.) T: What is it? Ss:It’s A. T:What is it? Ss:It’s V. T:What is it? Ss:A car. T:What colour is it? (Teach the word “colour” and the sentence: What colour is it?)
Show a red picture and ask: What colour is it? Teach the new word: red. Use the same way to teach the other new words: yellow, green, black, white and blue.
After teaching the new words, ask the students to read the new words by themselves.Nest play a game: What’s missing.
Step3. Let the students turn to page 16. Look at the pictures and read the text, tell the main idea of the text in the students' own words.21教育网Let the students speak in front of the class. Encourage them not to be shy

Step4. Encourage the students to ask more questions about this part. Divide the class into groups of three or four to finish the task. Ask all of the students to take part in the discussion.

Step6 Read and comprehension
1. Lead the students to understand the dialogue sentence by sentence.
2. Ask the students to read the dialogue together. But before that, make sure the students can pronounce the words in this lesson correctly. 3. Role-play.
Step7 Play games. Game1:Throwing the box.
Ask some volunteers to throw the box that with the new words all around. Students ask: What colour is it?
The volunteer answer with the
word which upward. One volunteer has twice chances. Game2:Touching and guessing.
Student A come to the blackboard and take out one thing from the bag, then ask student B who is closing eyes:What is it? What colour is it? Student B by touching the thing then answer with: It’s a/an...

Step7 Sum up 1. Let the students close their books. Ask them to say what they learned in this lesson. Ask some volunteers to write on the blackboard. 2. Do some exercises and check.
Step8 Homework 1. Finish off the exercises in the textbook. 2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
