Type of class: Revision lesson Analysis of the teaching material: This is a recitation section for Junior 1 students. Since students have learnt six modules, half of the textbook, it is necessary for them to review the main topics in the mid of the term. Among the six topics, these four like personal background, future life, holiday plans and giving directions are especially useful and essential for students’

daily life, therefore, they are the focus of the lesson. And in order to let students grasp these topics as a whole, two e-pals Lingling and Mike are created in this lesson, and they write emails to each other around these topics.

Analysis of the students: Students in junior one have been adapting to the middle school learning, and been equipped with a limited amount of vocabulary, so they may have some difficulty in putting what they have learnt into daily use.

Teaching Goals: Through my teaching, my students will be able to:

Knowledge: 1.

review the relevant vocabulary. 2.

know how to get personal background by listening ,make holiday plans, talk about the future life and give directions. 3.

review the future simple tense: will be, be going to and use them in the daily situation. Skills: 1.

listen for specific information to get people’s personal background. 2.

read for clues to choose correct ideas. 3.

make holiday plans by discussing in pairs using “be going to”.

4.

read for directions and give directions using proper sentence patterns. Emotion: 1.

get to know “Every coin has two sides”. 2.

lay emphasis on cooperation in learning.
