What will be the share of your writing? 23+ So, there is still a long way to go. That’s why we will once again talk about How to Improve My Writing. I do hope the lesson today will help you get closer to your dream universities. Now, let’s go! Look at the handout, page 1.

Here is a writing from one of you. What do you think of it? How many marks do you expect it to be given? You have 3 minutes to read it through, write down the marks you offer, and simply explain why.

What makes a good writing? Just as several of you have mentioned, you think of the structure, the language, the handwriting, and so on. Now, I’d like you to work in groups of 4 to make a list of Grading Standards. The form on the PPT may serve as a guide. Everyone is supposed to take your share and play an active part. I’m sure, with a joint effort, you will do a satisfactory job. Now, get down to your work.（5min）

To keep an eye on their children, nowadays many parents are using a high-tech wristwatch when they are at school. Despite its convenience to the parents, teachers hold a negative attitude as they feel their lessons are spied on.

Generally, I stand on the teachers’ side. To begin with, those parents are caring too much for their children. Children are sent to school just to learn to be independent. With parents’ 24-hour care, how can they? Secondly, wearing the wristwatch which often sends out sounds, it’s unavoidable that students’ will be distracted in

class, resulting in their underachievement in study. Last but most importantly, just as the teachers have argued, this equipment is a symbol of distrust in schools and an invasion of privacy of teachers and other students. No one can base their own convenience on others’ inconvenience.

Due to the reasons mentioned above, I don’t support those parents’ practice.
