教学内容：人教版高中英语选修11 Unit 1New Zealand, reading comprehension.

教材分析：

本单元话题是新西兰，涉及新西兰的历史、地理位置、民族、气候、自然资源、旅游等话题。所有技能都是围绕这一主题设计的。而阅读材料部分《新西兰—长白云之乡》，介绍了新西兰的地理位置、地形地貌、气候特征以及简史，特别是新西兰的第一批居民毛利人移居新西兰的历史，同时也叙述了欧洲移民（主要是英国人）到来的经过，欧洲移民为了争夺地盘与毛利人进行了一系列的战争，结果毛利人丧失了大部分土地，欧洲移民最后成为社会的主流。新西兰就这样按照英国的社会模式构建了起来。

背景分析:

知识上，高三学生通过地理课学习世界地理，对新西兰的地理位置、地形地貌、气候是了解的；通过历史课上学习殖民国家对外侵略和扩张，对新西兰这段历史也是熟知的。两年英语的学习对描述地理位置、气候等表达也是熟练的。只是口语表达能力不强。学习方法上，学生已经掌握基本的阅读技巧，如跳读，查读，精读，猜测词义，概括段意及主要内容。但是学生还没有完全并且熟练运用这些技巧，因此还需要训练。

教学目标：

Step one: Lead-in 1.

Look at a film clip. What is it? Do you know the place where the film was produced? Do you know why the film was produced in New Zealand?

Purpose: These two activities can not only lead to the topic and makes students get warmed up, but also activate their acquired knowledge to support further study.
