Warming up A riddle

T: I have got a friend. Guess, who is it? It has a round face. It has three hands. It can say” tick, tock, tick, tock.”

Who is it? Ss: A clock. Presentation 1、T shows time that Ss learnt before. T: What’s the time on the clock?

Ss: it’s (eight) o’clock.

It’s half past (eight). Ss answer quickly and revise the drill they learnt before. 2、T 拨动时钟，让学生观察钟表上的时间。

T: What’s the time on the clock? Ss: It’s (five) past (eight). 3、Ss拨动时钟，请同学练习表达。

师相机引出quarter，让学生理解其意思，学习读音，并进行运用。

What’s the time on the clock? It’s eight clock. It’s five past eight. 5、学生继续拨动时钟，老师引导学生学习句型：

It’s (twenty-five) to (eight). 6、

老师引导学生观察课本第20页上的钟面，找出规律：半点前用，半点后用。

老师播放录音，学生跟读。

同桌间进行对话练习，老师巡视指导。

老师挑选2－3组学生在全班展示，并及时给予评价。
