Teaching aims To practice using phrasal verbs. To practice listening and taking notes. To practice using the language of job interviews.

To role-play a job interview. Teaching difficulties: 1.

The students may have difficulty writing down the information while listening even though they understand it. 2.

Some students may be less confident than others when role-play an interview for a job. Teaching Aids: computer Teaching procedures: Ⅰ. Warming up

T: I am pretty sure that all of you are working so hard every day because you desire to go to college. Actually, as soon as you have graduated from college, you have to go through interviews before jobs are offered to you. And in a job market where competitions are so fierce, a successful interview really counts in getting you a job. So I believe it’s quite necessary for us to learn something about interviews. Ⅱ. Vocabulary: Phrasal verbs. 1. With the help of some pictures, Students make a list of things to do and things not to do in interviews. Make sure students understand some difficult phrasal verbs. 2. Fill in the blanks with the following phrasal verbs to consolidate them.

Ss answer the questions individually and then check answers as a class. Play the tapescript again if necessary. 4. T: Just now we mainly focus on the interviewee’s answer. Now next let’s pay attention to what the interviewer has asked. Listen to the dialogue again and complete the questions below: (1). _______________________________at Camp Elizabeth? 1. T: After listening to the interview of Oliver, you must have had some ideas about how interviews are going on . Next, we will deal with another exercise to learn about more language used in job interviews. Do Exercise 6 Read through the key words. Students work in pairs completing the Function File Get one pair to act out the dialogue. 2. Summarize the process of an interview with the students. Ⅴ. Speaking

1. T: Since we have learned how an interview goes and what questions are usually asked, now a chance is offered to you to practice what you have learned. Let’s do a mock interview. Students work with partners. One acts as an interviewer and the other works as an interviewee. Decide on a certain job and then make an interview. Use expressions from the Function File. 2. Get the students to act out their interviews.
