-----------The Road to Success 一、教材分析

本课是模块五第十四单元第三课，其内容是讲述一名电视工作者王君燕的成长历程以及工作情况。学生将在本课获得关于学习、职业的相关词汇和信息，学习并使用根据已有信息进行推论。学生要将阅读中所习得的信息、词汇内化，用自己的语言在教师安排的课堂活动中来参与、表达，并对事业成功的因素进行讨论。

从文本语言来看，文本篇幅较长，段落多，生词不多也不生僻，学生从字面上阅读课文的难度不大，但个别词可以鼓励学生猜测词义。从文本结构来看，主要围绕母亲的影响以及工作情况展开，故事结构清晰，有助于学生理解文章脉络。

二、学情分析

学生的英语水平参差不齐，面对这样的班级情况，在阅读问题的层次性和讨论话题的参与性及其难度的设置方面得全面考虑。

三、教学内容

话题：电视工作者王君燕的成长历程与职业生涯。（阅读）

在本课结束时，学生能够：

五、教学过程: Ⅰ. Warming up

T: Look at these two pictures.

Picture 1 T: Who is he ? S: Ma Yun . T: What will you think of when you look at this picture? S: The Double Eleventh Day and the Double Twelfth Day. Many people have saved a lot of money by shopping online. T: Do you think he is successful ?

S: Yes.

What characteristics made Wang Junyan a success? Being curious, hard-working and believing in what was true. 2. What did Wang Junyan do with her mother that taught her to be curious? They would look in old nests to find birds’ feathers and turn over stones to look at the little creatures there. 3. What made Wang Junyan realise the importance of being a journalist? Her report on an illegal business made her realise the importance of being a journalist.

4. What does Wang Junyan like most about being a reporter?

She finds it interesting and challenging.
