Objectives
To practise reading for inference.
To practise talking and writing about one’s experience of meeting someone
for the first time.
Teaching procedures: 1.
lead in guess the topic of the lesson according to the pictures 2.
Pre-Reading：
Do you think first impression is important? Why or why not? 3. While-reading a.Read the first part of this story
Use the reading strategies and decide if the sentences are true or false 4.
Post - reading a.Fill in the blanks according to the development of the story: b. Role play •
Act out the text in two or three c. Discussion •
Talk about the first impression of your host family and the impression of them now 5. homework Read the passage carefully and then try to retell this story.
