This is a simple exposition. Students are expected to have the knowledge of the characteristics and the functions of three plants: white jasmine, Yulan magnolia, ball cactus. After learning this text, students can enlarge their vocabulary of plants, improve the reading skills and the communicative skills.

Learner profiles: This class has a positive learning attitude and has passion in English learning. The students can express their opinions after collecting key points and sort out the information from the text. With a relatively small vocabulary, the students are not confident in summary, analysis, and evaluation. After learning the previous two sessions, the students are able to understand relatively long and complicated structures. Students are supposed to have some basic knowledge of plants, but they still need enhancement in language competence and thinking qualities.
