【教材分析】

The interesting world of plants这篇文章介绍了四种各具特色的植物，它们或是外形奇特，或是生命力顽强，体现了大自然的神奇魅力。本文内容难度不高，但细节较多，部分单词读音较难，这可能是学生在学习过程中会碰到的问题。

【学情分析】

本班学生情况比较特殊，因为他们大都是来自美丽的新疆的少数民族的孩子。他们的英语基础比较薄弱，单词发音不标准，阅读技巧不熟悉，语篇理解和分析能力相对较弱。因此我选择从他们比较熟悉的植物入手，自然过渡到文中所涉及的植物，然后逐步推进，疏导全文脉络，让学生对整篇文章有一个比较全面而细致的把握。

Teaching objectives: After learning the article, students should be able to 1. read the new words correctly and understand the basic meanings and usage of them. 2. have a good understanding of the five plants in the text. 3. describe their favorite plants generally.
