Teaching Procedures Step One: Greetings Step Two: Warming up and revision

Sing the song of “colors” and revise the colors we learned

before.

Collect some pens of different colors from pupils and ask some of them: “Is this your pen? ”(---No, it isn’t . )

“Which is your pen? ”

(The green/red/blue one. ) Revise the word “Which” and help the pupil to give the proper answer. Step Three: Presentation and practice

Present a coat and ask “What’s this? ” Ask some pupils to give the answer. Stick the picture of “coat” on the blackboard and present the spelling form beside the picture. Help the pupils to read the new word correctly and remember the spelling of the new word.

Do the same to the other three new words. Then tell the pupils all these things can be called clothes. Teach and practice “clothes”, pay special attention to the sound of “--thes”.

Step Four: Practice and presentation

Ask the pupils to show their clothes. Collect the typical ones to practice the English of them.

Collect clothes of different colors. Ask some pupils “Is this your …?”(No, it isn’t. ) “ Which is your …? ”(The yellow/red/black one. ). Order them “Put on your…”

Use body language to help the pupils understand the meaning

of “Put on…”. Practice the expression of “Put on ”with different objects.

Step Five: Presentation and practice

Present the animation of the dialogue twice. At the second time , ask questions about the details. “what time is it? ”

“Is this Wendi’s coat? ” “Which is Wendi’s coat?”

Step Five: Practice and act

Ask the pupils to read the dialogue by themselves and have a check. Then, Practice the dialogue after the tape. Read the story in roles and act it out.

Step Six:

Consolidation

Collect some clothes from different pupils. Say “Oh, My! So, many clothes on my desk. Who lost their clothes. Let’s go and find the owners. Who can help me?” Then, leave the task to the children and help them to send these clothes back to their owners. No Chinese can be used in the activity.

Step Seven: conclusion

Make a summary of what we learn today and tell the children we should be willing to help people when they need it.
