Organize students to review the key phrases and sentences of U1 and U2 by using pictures.

2.Free-talk Look at these pictures. And let students use “be going to” structure to ask and answer questions. Step 2.Pre-task 1.

Work in pairs. Let students look at the table of Activity 1, and then make conversations by asking and answering questions about the weekend plans. 2.

Invite some pairs to share their conversations. Step 3.While-task 1. Ask students to read the sentences.

I'm going to check my email. Lingling and I are going to have a picnic. Lingling is going to have a piano lesson. 2.Let students try to find out the definition of the Simple future tense

and the usage of “be going to ”structure. 3. Practice (1)

Learn the structure of “be going to ”. And then ask students to complete Activity 2 to practice “be going to +do”.

Play a guessing game to practice the sentence structures. (4)

Let students look at these sentences and try to find out the sentence structure of affirmative, negative sentences and general questions of “be going to ”.

Then ask students to make a summary of the sentence structure of “be

going to” in groups.

Ask students to put the words in the correct order to make questions and then answer them in Activity 3 . Step 4. Post-task 1.

Have students look at the “Around the world” and read through the short passage .

Let students fill the blanks about “What are the people in UK going to do at the weekend?”

Work in groups. Have students ask and answer about what their group members are going to do next weekend and complete the table in Activity 5. And then invite some students to do a report.

Ask students to make a summary of the usage of “be going to”.
