Module 5 Shopping

本模块介绍“购物”这一与生活息息相关的话题。第一单元以为妈妈挑选母亲节礼物导入购物的话题，呈现了在不同场合下有关购物的一些交际用语。要求学生学会灵活使用购物用语，创设情景进行交际、会话，包括买卖物品、挑选商品、讨价还价、付款等，达到能用英语进行购物交流，培养英语交际能力的目的。由于本单元的话题贴近学生生活，要鼓励学生大胆地说，激发学生的兴趣，养成听说英语的好习惯。

Unit 1 What can I do for you?

第一课时是听说课，重点在于训练学生使用“How many...?”“How much...?”对可数名词和不可数名词的数量进行提问，使用“What colour...?”“What size...?”“How much...?”对物品的颜色、尺码、价格进行询问来围绕购物对话展开的口语表达。

教学目标

能听懂有关购物的简短对话，并能用有关购物的交际用语进行价格、颜色和尺寸的谈论；

通过为母亲选择礼物，教育学生要以感恩的心关爱父母和他人。

能够熟练运用有关购物的交际用语进行口头交际。

教学难点

使用有关购物的词汇和相关句型进行对话表演。

教学过程

Step 1、Warm-up 1. Look at the picture of Mother’s Day and think about what you’re going to buy for your mother on Mother’s Day.

2. Show some pictures and talk about what you’re going to buy for your mother on Mother’s Day.

（设计意图：通过展示有关母亲节和为妈妈购买礼物的场景图片，引出本模块话题，激发学生的学习兴趣。并且在看图讨论的同时，初步感知购物用语的使用。）

Step 2、Pre-listening (Activity 1&2) 1. Learn the new words in Activity 1.

2. Do Activity 1. Match the words and expression from the box with the pictures. Then work in pairs and talk about where you can buy these things. 3. Do Activity 2. Listen and answer the questions, then check the answers

in the whole class. Step 3、While-listening (Activity 3) Do Activity 3. Close the book. Listen and complete the table. Then check the answers. Step 4、Post-listening (Activity 3&6) 1. Open the book, read the conversation silently and answer the questions. Then check the answers. (1) What colour does Lingling’s mother like?

(2) Is the T-shirt on sale? (3) What size does Lingling’s mother take?

2. Do Activity 4.Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words from the box. （设计意图：通过设置题目，让学生进一步挖掘文章细节，并锻炼学生获取对话细节内容的阅读技能，以提高学生的英语阅读能力。）

3.Listen and repeat. （引导学生发现元音字母o在单词中的发音规律，以便于单词的识记和掌握。）

4. Do Activity 6 (Add some pictures of shopping and sentence structures). Act out a conversation between the shop/market worker and the customer. —How can I do for you? —I’d like/want…
