Unit 4 When is Easter?

Part C Story time

Teaching content:人教版(PEP)(三年级起点)(吴欣主编)五年级下册Unit 4 Part C Story time。

Teaching time: one period

Teaching objectives : revise and consolidate the months and dates; understand and role play the story; know and remember “Practice makes perfect”.

Teaching key points: understand and role - play the story; know and remember “Practice makes perfect”.

Teaching difficulties:understand and role play the story Teaching methods: sing songs, watch videos, perform, and discuss.

Teaching aids: PPT, videos, pictures.

Teaching procedure:

Step 1.Warm up and revise

Play the song THE TWELVE MONTHS. Get the students listen to the song and learn to sing the song. Then we revise the twelve months.

Step 2.Present

Play a video. It’s about the Chinese idiom 熟能生巧. It’s

in Chinese. After watching the video, I help students to retell the story in English.

Step 3.learn the story

(1)Show students some pictures about the story in Part C that we will learn today out of order. Then ask students to put them in order by themselves. Next, show the answers, and tell students the key point--- the dates. And revise the words first, second, third, fourth, fifth that we learnt in Unit 4.

(2)Play a video. It’s about the story in Part C that we will learn today. It’s in English.

(3)Help students understand the story.

(4)Teach students to read the story. Then get them read it aloud by themselves.

(5)Role-play the story.

Step 4. Emotion educate

Make students know “Practice makes perfect” from the story. Then use some pictures about our learning experiences to make them think over how they learn to play basketball, ride a bike, write English letters, and so on. Next, let students stand up and talk about what they

can do and how they learn it.

Step 5.Summarize

Summarize what we learnt today.

Step 6.Homework

Tell the story that we learnt today to your family.
