Teaching Procedures Step One. Warm-up/Revision 1.

Play a game about phrases. Speak loudly and quickly. 2.

What’ your hobby ? My hobby is V+ing. Phrases:

go fishing, plant flowers, cook meals.

A competition between boys and girls to use this pattern to make a sentence. 3. What’s my hobby ? (Guess teacher’s hobbies)

Reading books/singing/ playing the piano/planting flowers. 4.Ask other’s hobby.

Step Two. Presentation. 1.

Show a picture of Jim and Gao Wei. What are they talking about?

Look at the cartoon and answer the questions. 2.

Choose T or F. Read the dialogue and write the answers. 3.

Read after the tape. Read by themselves. Read in roles. Read in pairs.

Step Three. Practice 1.

Role-play. 2.

Show Jim’s family’s album. Ask students to introduce Jim’s family’s hobbies. 3.

Make a house for Jim’s family’s hobbies.

Step Four. Production. 1.Talk about your family’s hobbies. Choose three groups to present. 2.Write your family’s hobbies and share with classmates.

Different people have different hobbies. We should not only have our own hobbies, but also respect other’s hobbies.
