Teaching Plan Module 5 Shopping

课型：Language in use 教学方法：Interactive approach, teamwork, pairwork 教学目标：1. To understand and practice conversations about going shopping

2. To act out a conversation about going shopping 教学重点：1.Key vocabulary: Mother's Day, size, take, may, try, try on,

sale, certainly, wait a minute, price, look, fresh...

2. Key structures: What can I do for you?

I'd like to buy....

What color...?

What size ...?

How many/much...? 教学难点：How to enable the students to apply the key structures. 教具：A multi-media computer, OHP 教学过程：

Step 1. Lead in today's learning goals. (2 m') 1. To master some key vocabulary about going shopping 2. To master some key structures about going shopping 3. To understand and practice conversations about going shopping (listening practice) 4. To act out a conversation about going shopping (speaking practice)

Step 2. Vocabulary preparations

(5m') Activity 1. Match the words and expression from the box with the pictures. (P26) 1.Talk about the three pictures: "What can you see in Picture1/2/3 and where is it?" 2. Ask Ss (=the students) to match the words in Box 1with the pictures. 3. Ask Ss to read the words in Box 2 aloud and translate them into Chinese. 4. Ask Ss to say where they can buy these things.

Step 3. Listening Practice (25m') Activity 2. Listen and answer the questions (P26) 1. Ask Ss to read the four questions aloud and translate them into Chinese.

(适当拓展：Mother's Day:每年5月的第二个星期天，感恩母亲）

2. Ask Ss to listen to the dialogue for the first time and answer the questions. 3. Ask Ss to repeat after the recording without looking at the tapescript.(52 s') 4. Ask Ss to read the tapescript aloud and then lead in the next conversation.

Activity 3. Listen, read and dub(配音)-Teamwork(P26-27) 1. Ask Ss to listen and complete the table on P27 and then check the answers. 2. Ask Ss to close their books and repeat after the recording.(1m'27 s') 3. Ask Ss to open their books and read the conversations aloud.

4. Ask Ss to underline the useful structures about going shopping and translate them. 5. Play the video of the conversations for Ss and ask them to dub (配音）the video. 6. Draw two teams to come up and dub the video. (Homework: recite the dialogues)

Step 4.Vocabulary practice (3m') Activity 4. Complete the sentences with the correction form of the words(P27) 1. Ask Ss to read the words in the box aloud. 2. Ask Ss to fill in the blank with the correct words and then check the answers. 3. Ask Ss to read the complete sentences aloud.

Step 5.Listen and repeat (1m') Activity 5. Ask Ss to listen to the recording the repeat after it.

Step 6.Speaking Practice-Pairwork (10m') Activity 6. Ask Ss to work in pairs and act out a conversation about going shopping. 1. Ask Ss to make a conversation between a customer and a shop worker based on what we learnt in the listening activities. 2.Draw two pairs of Ss to act out the conversation on the platform.

Step 7.Summary and homework(2m') 1. Summarize what we learnt in this lesson 2. Homework: Recite the conversations of Activity 3 and polish your conversation.
