一、学生及教材分析：

对人物的描述在三到五年级都有滚动接触学习，学生已经掌握了人物外貌、能力、性格和职业简单介绍所用到的词汇和基本句型。但对于伟大人物介绍还是第一次接触，要对他们的丰功伟绩进行描述，并能简单评价或叙述自己的看法，这是学习的重点和难点。另外本班学生英语基础较差，思维禁锢，因此缺乏自信不敢开口表达，因此在教学设计中着重于如何减低在情境中的理解难度，在完成课中操练巩固的时候提供辅助。

二、学习目标：（知识、技能和情感目标）

1、“四会”掌握单词和词组：famous\person\history\leader\free\make\inventor\invent\bulb\light\bulb\

actor\actress\funny\movie\musician\paint 2、掌握句型：1) He tried to free the Chinese people and make their lives better.

2) What a...(he / she is)! 3、能用正确的语音语调朗读课文。

4、通过本节课的学习，学习怎样描述伟人的丰功伟绩。

5、革命先烈给我们创造了如此和平的生活环境，我们后人要懂得还社会和谐和文明。

三、学习重点、难点：

1、以Unit5课文为范本，对P27图(侧重于爱迪生)进行口语对话；

2、能简单描述伟人的丰功伟绩。

四、教学过程：

1、Leading-in：

1) Guessing game: 呈现广州市内各类与孙中山相关的道路，学校，公园及纪念堂等，激发学生猜的兴趣，引出今天学习的话题。

2) Show the title and read

T: Dr Sun Yatsen. He’s a very famous person. So, today many streets, schools and parks have his name. (new words & sentences)

2、Presentation

1) Why people name these places with his name? (出示选择题，减低学生难度)

(板书带读)

2) T: That’s why today many streets, schools and parks have his name. Let me show you why he was a famous and important person in Chinese history.

(呈现一些与课文描述相关的孙中山的历史图片资料，并通过呈现/学习文中的重点句) What a great man!

(最后小结引出该感叹句，水到渠成。)

3) Learn the dialogue of U5

T: Xiaoling is reading a book about Dr Sun Yatsen. And they are talking about him. Let’s listen to the dialogue and do this exercise.

4) Listen and read after the tape. (跟读，留意不懂的单词)

5) Read in groups (小组内互助解决朗读问题)

6) Read together (挖空课文检验朗读情况)

7) Try to retell U5(小组——汇报)

3、Practice：

1)To introduce an other famous person in groups

语言框架：

2) Know more famous people in U5

T: These people are very famous, too. Show the pictures of five famous persons, ask the pupils look and match.

(出示五种职业单词及相应英文解释，同位讨论完成配对) 3) Check and learn the new words

4)Discuss and share with others

(先以Thomas Edison为语言框架，让学生根据本节课学习的单词及句型进行选词填空，并为其他名人的介绍作铺垫)

4) 小组完成说话练习，然后汇报
