Teaching Plan Topic: My body Pupils: 39 (Grade 1) Teacher: Xu Tingting( from Mianyang Foreign language Experimental School)
Teaching objects:1. Ps can handle the words of body parts and the sentences “ I’ve got…”
“I haven’t got...”
2. Ps can distinguish the differences between singular and plural.
3. Ps can describe what they have in daily life and enable them to help others. Important point: Enable Ps to talk about the alien and the boy with the sentences “ I’ve got…”
“ I haven’t got…”. Difficult point: Leading Ps to describe other things with “
I’ve got…”
“
I haven’t got…”, and talk with each other fluently. Teaching methods: TPR, memory-game, simple ask and answer, team work, role-playing. Preparation: electronic copyboard, PPT, pictures and cards, a big red box. Process:
(Before class, divide Ps into 4 groups, each group is an alien who should try his best to get his body parts.) Step1. Greeting T: Good morning, class! ---Ps: Good morning, Miss Xu! T: Hello, girls!--- Gs: Hello, Miss Xu! (salute) T: Hello, boys!--- Bs: Hello, Miss Xu!(salute) Step2. Warming-up T: How are you?--- Ps: Fine, thank you. And you? T: I’m very happy, cause we’re going to sing and dance! Are you ready? ( The whole class sing the song “ Head, shoulders, knees and toes”) Step3. Lead-in T: Now, look at me. ( T points to the head) It’s my head.
I’ve got one head. How about you? Ps: I’ve got two eyes/ one nose/ two legs…
Step4. Presentation a. T: Yeah, you’ve got two legs.
I’ve got a friend, he’s an alien, look!( T shows the picture and imitate the alien)
Hello, I’m an alien! Look, I’ve got four arms.
(T encourages the Ps to imitate the alien, and stick the picture & the cards)
Ps: I’ve got four arms/ four hands/ an orange head/ three eyes/ two mouths/ six yellow legs.( encourage Ps to imitate the voice and tone of the alien) b. T: Good job! And I’ve got another friend, he’s a boy. (Imitate the boy)
Hello, I’m the boy. I haven’t got four hands. (T encourages the Ps to imitate the boy, and stick the picture of the boy)
Ps: I haven’t got four arms/ four hands/ an orange head/ three eyes/ two mouths/ six yellow legs.
Step5. Practice a. Teach the sentences on the board b. T imitates the alien, Ps imitate the boy, say the sentences. c. PK ( T vs Ps, T vs P1, P1 vs P2…) d. T: Now, let’s sing the song of “ I’ve got a friend” and dance.
Who is the best?( 4 groups sing and dance together) Step6. Extending a. T: In our life, we’ve got different toys, different school things, and different food.(T shows the pictures)Look, I’ve got 2 kites. How about you? Ps: (show their pictures) I’ve got…
T: Great! You’ve got so many things, they’ve got different colours.
Now, please colour your things.(4m to colour the pictures and practice)
OK!(Show Ps a picture of 2 blue kites)
Look! I’ve got 2 blue kites. How about you? P1: I’ve got a pink car. P2: I’ve got 2 red pencils. …
b. T: You’ve got so many things! But look at these children. (Show pictures in PPT) They haven’t got enough school things, they need help. Look at me. (T puts the picture of 2 orange bags in the big red box) I’ve got two orange bags. Here you are. Who can try?

Teaching reflection: 1. 学生掌握了关于身体部位的单词,可以用I’ve got…与I haven’t got…进行描述,并联系所学其他种类的单词进行拓展,但个别学生在表述时对单复数的掌握仍需加强。
2.课堂的前半段比较活跃,个别学生到后半段渐疲,应在课堂整体的活跃度上进行把控。
3.课堂奖励机制是将每组当作外星人并通过小组比赛进行各种身体部位图片的收集,增加学生的兴趣,在结尾让学生进行对本组外星人身体部位的表述以扣题并帮助学生复习,只是在时间安排上应该稍作精简。
