教学过程：

Step1. Crazy English Ask the students to read the words and phrases in Module5 from page 57-65.

Step2. Lead-in (Brainstorm) Let the students think about the words related to Frankenstein as many as possible. Frankenstein:___________________________________________ ______________________________________________________

Step3. Pre-reading Let the students do exercise 3 and check the answers in pairs.

Step4. Fast-reading Guide the students to go through Part 1 quickly and then fill in the blanks. The story of Frankenstein Frankenstein is a young scientist in _____, who creates a creature that_________ a human being. It is not only ________ but also has human ______. The creature is so large and _____ that people will feel _______ when they see it. As the monster has no friends and feels _______, it began to hate its ______. Later, when Frankenstein _______ to create a wife for it, the monster _______ his brother, his best friend and his new wife. Play the tape and ask the students to check their answers. Read the short story together.

Step5. Careful-reading Guide the students to read Part2 carefully and complete sentences 3, 4, 5 on page 58.

Work in pairs and try to find more details. Let the students put the following sentences in the right order. 1. The monster opened his eyes and came to the world. 2. The monster stood by the scientist’s bed, watching him. He wanted to say something. 3. Frankenstein had worked for nearly two years with one aim only to give life to a lifeless body. 4. He ran out of the room and hid in the garden, regretting what he had done. 5. Frankenstein threw himself on the bed in clothes and had terrible dreams.
