一、教学目标:

1.语言能力目标

(1)听:能听懂Reading中关于城市以前和现在变化的短文。

(2)说:能描述城市以前和现在变化,并能口头回答问题。

(3)读:能朗读懂短文,提高阅读技能。

(4)写:能根据文章画出思维导图,并写出城市变化的文章。

2.语言知识目标

(1)词汇:Guangzhou Tower, the Pearl River, by, most (2)句型:一般现在时: There is/ are…

一般过去时: There was/ were…

3.情感态度目标:通过学习短文,了解城市以前和现在变化发展的情况,培养保护城市的意识。

4、学习策略目标:通过小组活动,提高合作意识和能力。

5、文化意识目标:初步了解国内及国外的城市以前和现在变化发展情况。

二、教学重点和难点

重点:通过阅读短文,能画出思维导图来分类了解国内及国外的城市以前和现在变化发展情况,并能用There be(is/ are/ was/ were)…句型来表达。

教学难点:能运用正确时态结合there be句型完成描述城市的写作

三、教学过程

Pre-reading Step 1: Warm up & Lead in 1.

Greeting. 2.

Sing a song(How many cities?). 3.

Watch a video about Guangzhou. 4.

Answer the questions about Guangzhou according to the pictures. (口头练习There be句型和学习新单词:Guangzhou Tower, the Pearl River。)

Game: Magic eyes (用游戏进一步加深There be 句型的练习。)

While-reading Step 2: Presentation and Practice (First Reading) 1. Guess:What’s in their city? 2.Listen, read and circle the keywords. (Second Reading) 3. Match the pictures with the people. (Third Reading)

4. Fill in the blanks with correct sentences. 5. Read the passage together.

Post-reading Step3: Extension 1.

Read a passage of Jiangmen form wechat. 2.

Circle the key words of the passage. 3.

Discuss and make a mind map of the passage with group members. 4.

Watch a video. (An interview about people’s view on Jiangmen) 5.

Answer the question: Which city does the man\woman like, the old city or the new city? 6.

Have a debate. (the new city and the old city) 7.

Moral Education:We can try our best to make our city more beautiful!

Step4: Writing Let’s make a wechat push(微信推送) about your hometown. My Hometown ______________ is a beautiful city. There (was/were)____________________________________ before. There (is/are) _______________________________________ now.
