教材分析

本节课是冀教版小学六年级英语第三单元的故事课。本故事的篇幅很长，是在学生学习了Winter in Canada一章后的故事课，实际上是对本单元所学的知识点的综合呈现。

学生分析

小学六年级的学生已经有一定的英语水平，在能够理解故事的基础上，设计问题，发散学生思维，激发学生学习英语的兴趣。

通过对本故事的学习，使学生理解该故事，掌握故事情节。

复习并运用本单元所学习的与冬天有关的单词和句型，并能简单复述表演本故事。

激发学生已有的生活体验，培养孩子对生活的热爱之情。要和朋友友好相处，帮助朋友。

Step 1：warming up

Greetings T: Class begins. Hello, boys and girls. Ss: I’m fine, thank you. T：How’s the weather today? Ss: It’s sunny. T: Did you have a happy holiday? Ss：Yes. T: So did me. I had a trip to Shenyang. It is far from Tangshan. I went to Shenyang by plane. Shenyang is colder than Tangshan. Look, the ship is made of snow. It’s very large. I also went skiing in Shenyang. It was too difficult for me and I fell down. But it was very interesting. What did you do in winter holiday? S1：I stayed at home and read books. It was too cold. S2: I played snow with his friends. S3: I went to library. T: All of you had a happy holiday. So did my friend John. This is my friend John. What’s he doing? Ss: Making snowman. T: Do you like making snowman? Snowman is very cute. How to make a snowman?

Ss: First, make a big snowman ball. Then make a small snowball. Put the big snow ball on the small snowball. A carrot is his nose. A banana is his mouth. Two stones are his eyes. Two potatoes are his ears. T: Making snowman is very fun. John made a snowman. What happened to John and the snowman?

设计意图：由师生对话引出本课故事，激发学生的学习兴趣，让学生明白我们本课学习的故事和雪有关，回忆本单元关于冬天的相关知识。但是不出示最后一幅图，留一个悬念。

Step 2：New teaching T：It’s amazing! The snowman can talk. Why he can talk? After watching the video, do you have any questions? Talk with your partners in your group. You can write down the questions. Each group has a paper.

Three two one, snowman. This group wants to know……. Put the questions on the blackboard. T: Now we have 6 questions to solve. Work with your partners in your group. Learn the story together. Try to find the answers. Each group can choose a picture and talk about it. You can act it out, read it or retell it. T: Three two one, snowman. Let’s go back to the story and work it. T: Picture one, which group want to work it? T: Thank you for your reading. One day, little John wanted to go out and play. What did he need to put on? Winter is so cold. We need to put on

our winter clothes. John played in the snow. What did he make? Look, there is the snowman. I think he is very cute. What do you think of the snowman?

T: There is only one snowman. Maybe he is very lonely. Maybe he needs a friend. Let’s see the next picture. Which group wants to work it? T: Thank you for your acting. It was so cold. The snowman was poor. What did John do to the snowman? T: He took off his hat and put it on the snowman.

T：I want to help the snowman. Maybe I want to buy a pair of shoes for him. Do you want to help the snowman? How?

T: So kind of you, all of you want to help him. How did John help the snowman? Can the snowman skate now? Let’s see.

Show the picture four. T: Can the snowman skate now? The snowman can skate very fast. How did the snowman feel now? Can he always skate? No. Spring is coming. Then summer and autumn are coming. Let’s see the next picture. Show the picture five.

T: Why can’t the snowman skate in spring, summer and autumn? There is no rain, there is no snow and there is no snowman. Maybe the snowman will die.

T: How did the snowman feel? The snowman was so sad. John wanted to help him. How did John help the snowman? Let’s watch the video.

T: John is very clever. How did he help the snowman? He put the snowman into fridge. How did John’s mother feel?

S: Surprised.

T: If you were John’s mother, what will you say to the snowman? If you were the snowman, what will you say to John’s mother? 设计目的：发散学生的思维，激发学生的学习兴趣，让学生开放性的思考，换位思考，调动学生的积极性。

T: That’s the whole story. Let’s solve our questions on the blackboard.

Step 4: Acting T: Now let’s enjoy the story from the beginning. Work with your partners. Try to act the story. If you couldn’t remember all the sentences, you can use your own words. T: Thank for your acting. The snowman is too lovely. Let’s clap our hands to them.

Step 5: Discuss: T: The story is so interesting. In this story, who do you like best？Why? What do you learn from the story? Step 6: Conclusion: T: All of us have friends. When our friends are in difficult(困难), we should help them. If we were in trouble(麻烦), our friends will help us, too. Friendship is a flower which blooms(开放) in our hearts. Step7: Homework Retell the story to your parents in English.
