Step1. Pre-task

1.Enjoy the songs: Birthday! Birthday! 2.Sing the chant. January comes first. February comes second. March third, March third. April comes fourth.May comes fifth.June sixth,June sixth.July comes seventh.August comes eighth.September ninth, September ninth. October comes tenth.November comes eleventh.December twelfth, December twelfth. In the chant, we can also find 12 ordinal numbers in the chant. Ss use the ordinal numbers to talk about the months. January is the first month of a year.

3.Talk about the dates. Say from 1st to 31st. Then play a guessing game. It is a very important day for my mum and me. I was born（出生）on that day. What is it? 4.Guess the teacher’s birthday. Talk about Ss’ birthdays.

Step2. While-task 1.

Ask some questions about their birthdays. Whose, when, where, when, how, what... 2.

Watch the cartoon and answer: Whose birthdays are they talking about? 3.
