The pupils may have already mastered “good, book, look” and the pronounce of “oo” , and we’ll use “oo” to lead in more new words in this story.

Language: 语言目标

1. Words and phrases: The pupils can pronounce and understand the following words and phrases correctly: Mr. Hook, need a cook book, looks for the book, meets a good cook, from day to night, from night to day, writes a book. 2. Sentences: The pupils can understand and read the sentences below: a.

Mr. Hook wants to be a cook. b. He looks for the book here/there/everywhere.

c. Mr. Hook meets a good cook. d.From day to night, Mr. Hook cooks and cooks. Reading: 阅读目标

1. The pupils are able to understand the story. 2. The pupils are able to read the story. 3. The pupils are able to arrange in the story correct order. Thinking: 思维目标

1. The pupils are able to observe the pictures and think about it. 2. The pupils are able to understand that experience is the best teacher and practice makes perfect. 3. The pupils are able to use their imagination to think about the end.

Introduce the story by guessing Mr.Hook’s job and talking about the cover with pupils, let pupils read and understand the story orally. And then help pupils learn the new words , new phrases and sentences according to the story order. Let the pupils practice after understanding the meaning of the story. At last , have some pupils retell the story.

PPT/ worksheet/ Picture book/ an envelope with some worksheets Questions: Maybe the pupils can’t fully understand the route with so many new words and expressions. And it’s more difficult for pupils to retell the story fluently.

In this game, students have to quickly respond the pronounce of “look, book, cook, hook, foot, good ”, and all these are in the story.

Students stand up, do the action and sing together. Question:

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a_____.

5. Read the cover and have a prediction with the students. Let’s meet the protagonist of the story and answer: What’s his name? Why he wants to be a cook? The teacher introduces the cover briefly and have a prediction with the students.
