By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: 1. Scan the text and find out what are they doing?

2. Get to know the meaning of “make, making”

both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce them clearly; 3. Guess the meaning of the word “cook” from the context;

4. Use the words “making”

in speaking and writing; 5. Use structures like “What are you doing?. We are_______”

to talk about doing things in English. 3.

Focus of the lesson: 1.Understanding the dialogue as a whole;

2. Role playing the dialogue with the right pronunciation, intonation and sentence stress.

Step I : Leading T: Let’s sing an English song about“What are you doing?”

(设计意图：以师生间亲切的英文歌导入，边唱边做动作，师生情感互融，迅速营造温馨愉悦的教学氛围,帮助师生以良好的精神状态进入课堂教学，为后面学习的现在进行时作铺垫) StepII : Presentation 1.

Read loudly.(read the red words but no black words) swim run ride juice …

（设计意图：以词的形式出现让学生读，红色均为动词形式，黑色词为名词形式，既练习了动词，为后面的知识做铺垫，又增添了轻松地气氛。）

2. T: Look at these words,they are verbs, how to add “ing”? let’s have a try. T checks up, and gives some cards to Ss.

(设计意图：让学生动笔写出动词的ing形式，复习旧知，引出ing.教师及时给予优秀学生

卡片奖励。) 3.

Help the bird. T: The little birds want to eat worms, let’s help feed them. （设计意图：让学生根据规律，归纳动名词形式，记忆加ing的三种方法。）

T: Do you know cooking? Do you know the other meaning of “cook”? Now I’m a cook.

T：Who can read this tongue twister “Cooks make some cakes.”

Ss read it one by one. Read it line by line. T: What are they? They are ....pancakes. （设计意图；通过动词的ing形式，教授cook 的名词形式，进而拓展语音

T：Listen, what are they saying? Choose a correct picture. Read the sentences. Pair work.

（设计意图：由听句子猜图片引出句型，练习对话。环节紧凑，一步步贴近重点。）

Chant 用学到的句子编成chant，师示范，学生说唱。

T: I can make some pancakes, and I also can make some others .（引出其他的搭配）

T: What are you doing?(指出两名同学一起回答，并提示用we’re．．．) Work in groups. Four students are one group, they can use their cards to make something, and show us the dialogue. （设计意图：让学生自己动手制作东西，利用重点句型提示做对话，发散学生思维发挥想象力，互相讨论帮助，有助于学生间的合作精神）
