Unit 8 : Let’s Make Some Pancakes

Period 3 一、Teaching Objects:

1. Knowledge objects:

2. Ability aims:

By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: 1. Scan the text and find out what are they doing?

2. Get to know the meaning of “make, making”

both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce them clearly; 3. Guess the meaning of the word “cook” from the context;

4. Use the words “making”

both

in speaking and writing; 5. Use structures like “What are you doing?. We are_______”

to talk about doing things in English. 3.

Focus of the lesson: 1.Understanding the dialogue as a whole;

2. Role playing the dialogue with the right pronunciation, intonation and sentence stress.

Step I : Leading T: Let’s sing an English song about“What are you doing?”

(设计意图:以师生间亲切的英文歌导入,边唱边做动作,师生情感互融,迅速营造温馨愉悦的教学氛围,帮助师生以良好的精神状态进入课堂教学,为后面学习的现在进行时作铺垫) StepII : Presentation 1.

Read loudly.(read the red words but no black words) swim run ride juice …

(设计意图:以词的形式出现让学生读,红色均为动词形式,黑色词为名词形式,既练习了动词,为后面的知识做铺垫,又增添了轻松地气氛。)

2. T: Look at these words,they are verbs, how to add “ing”? let’s have a try. T checks up, and gives some cards to Ss.

(设计意图:让学生动笔写出动词的ing形式,复习旧知,引出ing.教师及时给予优秀学生

Help the bird. T: The little birds want to eat worms, let’s help feed them. (设计意图:让学生根据规律,归纳动名词形式,记忆加ing的三种方法。)

T: I can make some pancakes, and I also can make some others .(引出其他的搭配)

T: What are you doing?(指出两名同学一起回答,并提示用we’re...) Work in groups. Four students are one group, they can use their cards to make something, and show us the dialogue. (设计意图:让学生自己动手制作东西,利用重点句型提示做对话,发散学生思维发挥想象力,互相讨论帮助,有助于学生间的合作精神)
