Teaching objectives: Words：trash, pick up , basket, heavy, beautiful, ugly, pull

Sentences: It was dirty, but it’s clean now.

Tong and Gogo picked up the trash. 2.

Teaching difficult points and key points: Let the students master the use of both the past tense and the present tense in a sentence. 3.

Teaching procedure: ①

Warm up: Discussing the weather, one of the students was ill. Ask why he was ill. Is it related to the weather? ②

Revision: From the question that ask the sick student, review some sentences like “

It was cold yesterday ”

and so on. In these sentences, there are also some words that they have learned before: warm, cool, wet, dry, clean, dirty, tidy, messy, cold, hot. ③

Lead in: Talk about the classroom. “It is clean now.” And tell everybody that everyone likes to be clean including Gogo and Tony. But what happened to them? ④

Story explanation and Sentences teaching: From the PPT and the video

And explain the sentences pattern from the story. ⑤

Practice1: The teacher retell the story with new sentences and drawing on the blackboard. The Students read and understand. ⑥

Practice2: A worksheet. Completed filling in the blanks and retell the story in groups. And then show it. Finally show them the correct answers. ⑦

Consolidation1: Role playing. Some volunteers act as Gogo and Tony and other roles to show the story. ⑧

Consolidation2: Do some exercises on the notebook. Give the students some pictures and some questions, and then ask them to write out the sentences with the words they have learned before. ⑨

Homework: Compare the streets of the past and today, think about the difference and write it out with the new sentence pattern.

Expanding: An environmental video. Let students think about the environment around us. And should be conscious of environmental protection.
