Analysis of Teaching material This lesson is the revision unit of Module7. The top of Module 7 is “My past life”. This topic is very familiar for students and students are interested in this topic. Students first meet “past tense” in this Module. This lesson will revise the knowledge through listening, speaking, reading, writing and more exercises. Analysis of the students They have learned the use of be in past tense and master the words and expressions in Unit1 and Unit2. They will be able to master the past tense of be further. Teaching objective Knowledge and skills 1.

Students will be able to master the words and expressions of this module further. 2.

Students will be able to understand the description of other people’s past life. 3.

Students will be able to describe their past life and make conversations about it in their own way. Process and methods Students will be able to talk about their past life in their groups by discussing with their classmates. They will help each other to master the conversation about past life. Emotion, attitude and values Students will more about their classmates through their description of their childhood. This lesson develop their love of their hometown and life. Focal and difficult points To talk about past life in their groups To write a composition about past life by using was and were. Teaching methods Formal and interactive practice, task-based approach. Teaching aids: PPT,OHP Teaching procedure Step 1 Watch the video of the song”childhood”

Purpose: To bring the students into the class happily Step 2 The teacher introduce herself by showing the pictures of her past life, both childhood and family life. Students listen to the teacher carefully. Purpose: To culture the listening ability for the students and be able to introduce themselves. Step 3 The teacher ask the students about their past life and at the same time the teacher show the mind map of this module to revise the key sentences of this module. Purpose: To revise the key words and sentences of this module and exercise students’

speaking ability. Step 4 Let students talk about the past life in their groups. A: Hi, …Where were you born?

Purpose: Culture the students’ cooperation ability and speaking ability. Step 5 The teacher introduce some famous people’s past life. Purpose: Let students know someone’s success are related to their hard working. This is the education of emotion and attitude. Step 6 Reading: Read about Tony and answer the questions. Hello, my name is Tony. I was born in Cambridge in England in 2001. My first school was Darwin Primary School. In the primary school, there were 25 students in my class. Mrs Lane was my first teacher. She taught us English. She was strict but very nice. My favourite subject was PE. Becky and Adam were my first friends. Becky was very good, but Adam was quite difficult in class. I love my first school. I look forward to seeing my friends again.
