Greet the students; 2.

Show some pictures about New Zealand and let students do a quiz about it, including its location, capital, national flags and appreciate some beautiful pictures of New Zealand’s natural scenery.

Purposes：

a. Draw the students’ attention and inspire their learning motivation by showing the relevant pictures; b. Enable students to master the basic knowledge of New Zealand.

Step2 . Pre-reading（1mins）

Show the reading title on the screen, then let students predict the main idea of the passage. Purpose: Draw students’ attention and develop their ability of guessing the main idea according to the title.

Teaching reflection: The topic of the class is New Zealand ---- Land Of The Long White Cloud,the text is long and there are a number of new words in it,which is difficult for our students who are poor in English to understand .However,most students can review the whole passage and try to analyze each part before the class, in class,more students try their best to participate in the class,especially the discussion section,this kind of behavior is worth praising. Besides, since time is limited, in the last part---post reading,some students lost the chance to give a performance.
