Background study and material analysis:

Through the learning of the first semester, the students have learned the words about some big animals, such as ‘lion, panda, bear, monkey’, etc. They also have known some small animals, such as ‘frog, bird, rabbit’ from the story and the song. So in this period, there is only one new word ‘bee’. They also have learned the pattern ‘I can …’ to express the things they can do. In this period, they need to distinguish ‘What do you see?’ from ‘What can you see?’.The students will learn to use wh-question to find out what they see and the colours of objects. And they will make a short dialogue about animals in the zoo. Objectives:

To use nouns to identify small animals.
