Kitty’s activities. And they should try to understand the general meaning of the text, and speak out in class.

3. After scanning, Ss should try to finish a table. The table clearly show what activities Kitty does and how often she does. Activities

4. Divide the whole class into several groups. I let them read the text again, think and answer the following questions after discussing with their group members. Q1 Is Kitty a healthy girl? Q2 How often does Kitty drink milk? Q3 How many hours does Kitty sleep every night? Q4 What sport does Kitty do? Q5 Does Kitty do well in her study? After Ss finished the questions, T will help them to correct the answers. Then T leads Ss to read the text and help them mastering the pronunciation of the text. Ss should read the text together. T should try to pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation.

5. T points out the key sentences for Ss and asks them to recite the sentences. The following is the key sentences. ①

She does well in her study because she eats well, sleeps well and plays well. Let Ss use “do well in” to make sentences to get familiar with the phrase. And ask Ss to master the difference between “good” and “well”.

Step 3 Consolidation 1. After studying the text, T let Ss retell the text with the help of pictures. 2. Ss read the story in Read and act. Ss discuss the story with their group members. 3. Ss try to retell the story in English. Maybe they can act out the story in class. Step 4 Exercise 1. T gives some exercises to Ss and let them finish the exercises. 2. Help Ss finish “Read and tick”.
