Project 3 Weather and seasons 教学设计
Teaching Aims: 1.
Knowledge Aim: Students can be reminded of words of weather and seasons, and use the formulaic expressions to describe weather and seasons.
eg: It’s sunny.

Ability Aim: Use simple present tense to state facts. Use adjectives to describe weather conditions.
eg: It’s summer. It’s red. 3.
Emotional Aim: Students can know the fact that our nature is beautiful, we should love and respect it.
Focal and Difficult Points: 1.
Focal Point: Students can use correct key pattern to describe weather and season. 2.
Difficult Point: Words are not easy to differentiate from one to the other. Sometimes students may get confused.

Teaching Method:
Whole-language teaching method
Teaching Aids: PPT, word cards, multimedia.
Teaching process: 1.
Greetings & warming up
The song is about weather, so it can recall students’ memories of some words. T: Class begins! S: stand up! T: Good morning, boys and girls S: Good morning, Emma. T: How’s the weather? S: It’s sunny. T: So let’s sing a song together!
Activity 1: Quick Response--Review the words
T: Now let’s do a quick response, ok? Ss: ok! (exciting.) Screen shows pictures of seasons, colors and weather quickly. Students try to answer as quickly as possible. Then teacher stick the words on blackboard by classification.
T: Now who can try to lead to read? S: sunny, rainy........ 3.
Activity 2: Look and say-- Review the sentences
T: Now please look at the pictures and then try to answer my questions, ok?
Ss: Ok. Screen shows pictures of different seasons, and students try to answer the different colors of seasons. Sentence Pattern: Spring is green.
Summer is red.
Autumn is yellow.
Winter is white. T: Let’s chant with beat! Ss chant with beat group by group. 4.
Activity 3: Guessing Game-- Review the discourse
T: Now let’s play a guessing game. Try to listen, and guess what season it is. Ss: Ok. ①
Screen shows an animation character Elsa, and says:
It's cold. It's white. It's snowy. I can make a snowman. What season is it? ②
Screen shows Sun Yang, and says:
It's hot. It's red. It's sunny. I can swim in the sea. What season is it? ③
Screen shows the Minions, and says:
It's cool. It's yellow. It's windy. I can fly a kite. What season is it? ④
Screen shows the Peppa pig, and says:
It's warm. It's green. It's cloudy and rainy. I can ride a bicycle. What season is it? After listening, Students will answer season by season. 5.
Activity 4: Color and Say--Create new discourse
T: Please open your book, turn to page 58, choose one of the seasons and color it. Look at the screen and try to introduce the season. You have one minute to color, go! Ss color and report. New discourse: It's rainy.(sunny/cloudy/windy/snowy) It's spring.(summer/autumn/winter)
Spring is green.(red/yellow/white) I like spring.(summer/autumn/winter) 6.
Watch a video of Tibet--Appreciate the Nature Our nature is beautiful,
we should love and respect it! 7.
Homework ①
Draw a picture of seasons. ②
Introduce one of the seasons to your parents.
