II. Teaching steps i. Warming-up 1.

Look at the picture. What’s this? (It’s a light.)Yes, you are right. Today we’re going to learn another light. Turn to Page 53.Let’s color the traffic lights. 2.

Part A: Warming-up: Color the traffic lights Picture 1: yellow Picture 2: red Picture 3: green ii. Presentation 1.

traffic lights Show the picture of traffic lights. Look! These are the traffic lights. There are three colors. What are they? Do you know? Yes. They are red, yellow

and green. Write “traffic lights” on the blackboard. Listen and read. Pay attention to its writing and pronunciation. What should we do to follow the traffic lights? Let’s see together. 2.

stop

Look at the picture. What color is the light now? (It’s red.) When the light is red, what should we do? We should stop. (Act “stop”) Read and write the word. Pay attention to the pronunciation. 3.

wait

Look at the traffic lights. The color changes. What color is the light now? (It’s yellow.) You cannot go now. You should stop and wait a minute.

cross the street

Look at the traffic lights. It’s green now. We can go. Let’s cross the street. “cross the street” Read and write. 5.

turn left &turn right We all have two hands. The one is the left hand; the other is the right hand. Can you guess what “left”

and “right”

mean? You are so clever. Now, please show me your left hand. This time, right hand, please.

Look at this sign. What does it mean? Do you know? Yes, it means you can turn left here. What about this sign? It means you can turn right now. “turn left”

“turn right” Do it while you are reading. 6.

Read after the tape and try to imitate the correct pronunciations.
