Teaching material: First Impressions (北师大版Unit13 Lesson4) 教学内容分析：

本课教学文本First Impressions选自北师大版高中英语教材必修五Unit13 Lesson 4。根据《普通高中英语课程标准（2017版）》，本篇文章属于“人与社会”这一主题语境。文章讲述了作者Jane因要准备一场很重要的口语考试去图书馆复习，但周围的人又很吵，Jane十分烦躁，甚至还有人唱歌。作者对唱歌的女孩第一印象很不好，可后来女孩Jenny主动联系了Jane，将其落在图书馆重要的课本归还后，两人成了好朋友。这是一篇记叙文，作者的情绪变化变化丰富。文章共有538个词，词汇相对简单，故事发展流畅。

整体设计思路：

基于本课话题“First Impressions”,整个阅读过程，老师以设问题的方式，在每个问题后面，围绕着主人翁的感受和判断的变化增设了一系列相关的小问题，以追问的方式引导学生展开层层阅读，寻找文字背后的答案，引发学生进行“人与社会”交往关系和判断分析的自我反思和深度思考。

Teaching aims:

By the end of the class, students will be able to: 1.

have a good understanding of the meanings of some key words; 2.

get to know the main idea of the story; 3.

find out the changes of Jane’s feelings and opinions of Jenny;

4.

Play a short video and ask students their first impressions of the woman in the video. 2.

Play the next part of the video and ask students their opinions of the woman now. 3.

First reading Activity 1 Ask students to put the events in order to complete the following passage.

4) Jenny was also angry at Jane’s glaring and shouting at her.
