Unit 6 In the kitchen

一、教学目标:

1. 能听懂、会读、会说单词:bread, meat, potatoes, tomatoes, vegetables.

2. 能听懂、会读、会说现在进行时态的一般疑问句:Are you doing… Is he/she doing…及正确回答。

3. 能正确的理解并朗读课文,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

4. 能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人正在做的事情。

二、教学重点: 能正确理解并朗读课文,在教师的帮助下尝试复述课文。

三、教学难点:能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人正在做的事情。

四、教学准备:Recorder, PPT

五、教学过程:

Step1 Greeting

Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2 Pre-reading

1. Look and say

T shows some pictures on the screen.

Lead Ss to review words : apples, oranges. They are fruit.

Teach:tomatoes, potatoes. They are vegetables.

2. Introduce myself

T makes a short introduction and teach the words and phrases:

a great cook, meat with potatoes, tomato soup, yummy

3. Play a game

Tips: 当你看到图片或单词时,请大声读出来;当你看到西红柿汤和土豆烧肉图片时,就说“yummy”.

Step 3 while-reading

1. Show the pictures of unit 6

T: Look, who are they ?

Ss: They are Liu Tao, Liu Tao’s father and Liu Tao’s mother.

T:You are right. Where are they?

SS: In the kitchen

T: Bingo! They are in the kitchen.(show the title, students read together.)

1. Listen and choose. Ask Ss to listen to the tape and answer: What do they have for dinner?

2.Listen to Part 1 and answer some difficult questions:

Q1: What are Liu Tao’s parents doing?

Q2: Is Mrs Liu cooking meat?

Q3: What is Mr Liu doing?

Ss discuss the questions with their partners and try to answer.

2. Listen to Part 2 and answer:

What is Liu Tao doing?

3. Ss Read Part 3 and answer:

Q1: What is Liu Tao doing?

Q2: How’s the meat?

Q3: How’s the soup?

4. Read after the recorder.

5. Ss read in groups. They can choose the way they like:

Read in roles; Read after one; Read together.

6. Retell the story.

Ss work in groups and try to retell the story according to the pictures showed on PPT.

Step 4 Post-reading

1. Let’s summary.

1)在这节课我们学习了哪些食物名称?

Ss: meat, potatoes, tomatoes, soup, vegetables

2) 如果你想问别人正在做什么,应该说:

Are you ….ing……?

Is he / she …ing……?

2. Diverse diet and not picky about food will make us more healthy.

Step 5 Homework

1. Listen to the tape and practice reading after class.

2. Try to make a short dialogue according to the text.
