Step 1 Free talk (4 minutes) T: Good morning, boys and girls! How’s the weather today? Ss: It’s cold. T: What season is it now? Ss: It’s winter. T: What do you like to do in winter? S1: I like to make snowmen.

T: What’s your favourite season? S2: My favourite season is spring. T: What do you like to do in spring? S3: I like to fly a kite in spring. T: Do you like all seasons? S3: Yes. T: Me, too. I like winter. I like spring. I like summer and I like autumn. I like all seasons.

（设计意图：通过Free Talk的形式，将学生脑海中对于四季的理解进行简单输出，并为新授环节打下基础。

Step 2 New concept (28 minutes) T: Does Li Ming like all seasons? And what’s his favourite season? Now please listen carefully. （2’）

S1: Yes, he does. S2: His favourite season is autumn. T: Li Ming loves all seasons. Why? (板书why)Please read part one and underline these answers.（10’）

S1: Li Ming likes winter. Why? Because he likes the snow and the spring festival. He likes to make snowmen. (边说边板书) T: Excellent. (板书because) Now please read after me “because”. T: Now let’s say it together.

T: How about spring? S2: Li Ming likes spring. Why? Because he loves the new leaves and flowers. He loves to plant trees. T: Great! Love means like very much. OK? T: Who can say it again? S3: Li Ming likes spring. Why? Because …. T: How about summer? S3: Li Ming likes summer. Why? Because he likes summer holidays. He loves to

swim in the sea. T: Good! Can you say again? S4: Li Ming likes summer. Why? Because …

T: The last one, autumn. S4: His favourite season is autumn. Why? Because he likes to fly a kite. T: Ok. Let’s say it together. Ss:... T: Why do you like the seasons? First please talk in your groups and then let’s have a competition.（8）

S1: I like... Why? Because I like... I like to... S2: I like... T: Congratulations. T: Now let’s see what do Danny and Jenny like to do in different seasons? Let’s listen to their song.
