Zhang Fengdan 【Teaching Material Analysis】

This lesson is from Hebei Education Press, the first term of Grade 3 Unit 1 School and Numbers. This unit mainly talks about how to greet with others and know about numbers. After learning, Ss be able to know how to get other’s name and how to introduce themselves. The ability of communicating with English will be exerted. Their confidence of speaking English will be built. 【The Analysis of Students】

After learning Lesson 1, Ss love to speak English. They have a strong curiosity on English study. 【Teaching Aims】

i. Be able to understand, read and say the words:

boy, girl, teacher;

ii. Can use and identify the function sentences:

“What’s his/her name?” “His/Her name is…”;

iii. Love to speak English. Learn to identify differences. 【Key Points and Difficult Points】

Key Points: Understand, read, write and say the key words.

Difficult Points: Identify the difference “his” “her”

Part One: Review and Warming-up 适性育人 悦然天成

I. Review: Review greeting words and question and answering sentences about “name”.

II. Warming-up: Sing 《What’s your name?》

【Design Intention】Quickly go into study, then create a quite good mood to learn.

Part Two: Presentation

I. boy, girl, teacher:

i. Look at different pictures to introduce.

II. his, her:

i. Point to different boys and introduce his name using the sentence “This is a boy. His name is…”

ii. The same way as the above, introduce girls “This is a girl. Her name is…”

iii. Ss introduce. T ask “What’s his/her name?”

【Design Intention】Create an actual learning situation.

III. Learn the content on the book. Part Three: Practice I. Follow the tape, read the content on the book. II.Group work:

Try to introduce others using the key structures in a group. 【Design Intention】Learn to use language in the real situation. Part Four: Consolidation Recall the key words and sentences. Part Five: Homework Introduce your friends name to your family members.
