【教材分析】

本单元课文围绕“过生日”这一话题，通过询问生日的具体日期以及谈论在生日里所做的事情展开对话。故事通过Su Hai和Mike这两位小朋友谈论“过生日”，意在让学生了解中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯。

【教学目标】

1.知识目标：

①能听懂、会说、会读

eleventh，

together，birthday，April，game等单词。

②能听懂、会说、会读句子和句型When’s your birthday? It’s on ... What do you do on your birthday? I usually...。

③能理解课文内容，知道中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯，部分学生能模仿课文使用英语描述自己生日。

2.能力目标：

①通过学***部分学生能流畅地朗读课文。

②能借助课文关键词汇、句型或图片复述课文。

3.情感目标：

通过生日话题的学习，体会同学、亲人之间友情或亲情带来的快乐,让学生懂得感恩父母。

【学情分析】

学生在第七单元中学习过月份名词和部分序数词，有了一定的基础，如知道first，second，third 和When is…?等句型。但缺少对讨论过生日更深层次的探究学习，比如中西方过生日的共同点和不同点等。

【教学重点】

①能听懂、会说、会读句子和句型When’s your birthday? It’s on ... What do you do on your birthday? I usually...。

②能理解课文内容，知道中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯，部分学生能模仿课文使用英语描述自己生日。

【教学难点】

①通过学***部分学生能流畅地朗读课文。

②能借助课文关键词汇、句型复述课文。

【课前准备】

1.常规预习：

听Unit8 Story time部分录音，跟读三遍，理解其意思，不理解的单词可以查询单词表。

2.预习导学：

①A: When’s your birthday?

你的生日在什么时候？

B: It’s on the eleventh of May.

在五月十一日。

②英语中“日”是用序数词来表示的。日期的构成就是“the + 序数词

+ of + 月份”。

如：

1月1日

如果要表示在具体的某一天（X月X日、星期X、你生日那天等），要用介词on。

TIPS:当前的中国生日已经吸纳了很多西方元素，中西方生日文化的差异已经不是很明显了。

（教学意图：让学生通过对比找出中西方过生日文化的差异，同时也对学生进行本课的情感教育。）
