Teaching contents : vocabulary revision --- description of a person Students : Class 22, Senior 3 Teaching objectives:

Language knowledge: be able to be familiar with the related words to describe a person.

Language skills

:

1) be able to describe a person using the words freely in daily life; 2) be able to fully understand the reading materials based on abundant vocabulary; 3) be able to write about a person using the related words.

Learning strategy: be able to guess words meaning from context and think in English . Affect : be able to be confident, cooperative in English study. Important points: be able to conclude various words and phrases to describe a person Difficult points: be able to guess words meaning by context. Teaching aids: computer, projector, blackboard...

Teaching procedures: Step1: A quick check of homework about word-guessing blank filling.

(purpose: to review some words and sentences in our textbooks) Step2: A brainstorm of the vocabulary that can be used to describe a person in groups and write down sentences containing the related words.

(purpose: to use the mind-map to recall the related vocabulary and can organize the language in sentences) Step3: A conclusion of the vocabulary and then memory check. Step4: Do an exercise to guess words meaning.

(purpose: to guess and analyze the words meaning in cloze and reading materials; to cultivate Ss’ cooperation and confidence; to let Ss learn by themselves ) Homework : Write a letter to introduce one of your favorite teachers.
