A title usually tells us the main idea of a passage, while pictures help us get more information about a passage. Please look at the pictures and answer the following question:
What do you know about The Phantom of the Opera? (You can answer this question by finding out Who wrote it? / When and Where did the story happen? / What did the Phantom look like? / What is the story probably about?...)

Please read
these reference materials: The Paris Opera House was built between 1861 and 1875, and it does have a lake underneath it. The French writer Gaston Lerous wrote his novel The Phantom of the Opera in 1911. The story of a mad musical genius and an innocent girl became very popular, and has inspired at least four film versions. The excellent stage musical (music by Andrew Lloye Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart) was first performed in London in 1986 and was now been staged in many other big cities including Shanghai.
5.
Please think over:
A.
If you were the Phantom / the mother / Christine / Raoul, what would you do? B.
